ISP007 Wedge – Reaching by djwedge

BIOGRAPHY:

Adam Wedge is a leading Dubstep producer, DJ, and label boss based in Bristol -UK. He has been producing music for over 11 years and is now a member of the notorious Hench Crew (alongside Jakes, Komonazmuk, Mensah, and Chasing Shadows). In addition to this he runs the innovative ‘If Symptoms Persist’ record label. As a producer, Wedge is highly respected, best known for making left of centre, glitchy, dark and atmospheric dubstep which has featured on both BBC-Radio 1 and 1Xtra, but more recently he has been exploring other musical genres, taking influence from house, techno, 80’s sci-fi, and retro disco to create a unique blend of what can only be described as ‘Intergalactic retro future funk’. He has a long list of vinyl releases to his name, spun at some of the biggest nights and festivals across the world (including Glastonbury, Fabric, Raw Sunshine – Berlin, and Sziget – Hungary) also recently returning from a tour of the USA and India. In addition Wedge hosts a hugely successful dubstep radio show.

Aside from the commercial success, Adam is also a Masters qualified music lecturer with 4 years teaching experience at Weston College and University, and works for Apple as a certified Logic Pro trainer. He has an incredibly professional delivery and is a very competent public speaker, also he gets a strong sense of enjoyment from teaching others to make music for themselves. In summary Adam Wedge has a solid history of work within the music industry, ranging from producer, to label owner and even actor in the music Video for one of his tracks! Check out the video here:

“Adam Wedge has managed to find a way out of the ever-encroaching trappings of “future garage,” where bright vocal samples and even brighter chords compete for the highest degree of day-glo extremity. He’s done it by simply reversing its tropes, and opened things up to a whole new world of possibilities.” – Andrew Rice – Resident Advisor 2011
